Difficulty Level 3 is our advanced level of activity.

Merit Badges

Merit Badges ranked as Level 3 are difficult, requiring the development of advanced skills. They make an excellent choice for Scouts who have achieved the rank of First Class or above. Scouts are definitely advised to practice their skills in the relevant areas beforehand, and reading the Merit Badge pamphlet in advance will often help considerably.

Other Programs

When non-Merit-Badge programs are ranked as Level 3, we mean they are difficult activities that will put your abilities to the test! For those who have never encountered this type of activity before, practicing/training beforehand will help you enjoy your experience of this activity at Hi-Sierra. For this level of activity, if you think you can do it, you probably can.

At Camp Hi-Sierra, we use a concept known as Challenge by Choice to guide our activity choices.
