Difficulty Level 4 is our demanding level of activity. This level is the hardest level of difficulty for Merit Badges.

Merit Badges

Merit Badges ranked as Level 4 are tough ones. These badges are wonderful challenges for campers in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year, as well as for Scouts with an extraordinarily well-developed interest and enthusiasm for the subject. These Merit Badges are particularly time-consuming, and Scouts pursuing them should seriously limit their other commitments during the week.

Other Programs

When non-Merit-Badge programs are ranked as Level 4, we mean they are difficult activities for individuals with sizable experience in the activity. Those who have never encountered this type of activity before should practice and/or train before attempting this activity at Hi-Sierra. These activities will definitely challenge you!

At Camp Hi-Sierra, we use a concept known as Challenge by Choice [0] to guide our activity choices.
